We’ve been working hard in the “off season” and are starting the convention cycle with a great new show. Come by and see us, Mr. Burks has designed a limited edition poster for the show (check it out on our Facebook page and “Like” us while you’re there) and a new- old favorite, while I have the newest addition to the Firefly collection ready…the MUCh requested Kaylee!

Chesterfield Comicon

by Mark on March 25, 2013 at 2:38 PM

David, Lew and myself (I’d be Mark) went out to support our local library at the Chesterfield Comicon this past saturday. Put on by the Friends of The Library, the show was put together to get the word out on the amazing selection of graphic novels, manga and anime that the library has put together. We had a great time doing free quick sketches for kids and meeting some folks that normally wouldn’t have seen our stuff. Here are some of the sketches, enjoy!

Richmond Virginia’s Very Own VA Comicon

by iconograph on February 19, 2013 at 8:56 PM

It’s always nice to hang out at the Virginia Comicon put on by Brett Carreras and Guy Rose. The new location (same as the old with a new name) is right in our hometown so it’s just a short ride over from the studio. We had a chance to catch up with a bunch of friends we haven’t seen since before the holiday season of 2012 like Chris Otto from A Dog’s Life webcomic, artist Bill McKay, and author Tom King. As always we also got to meet some new people as well in Artist’s Alley.

Here are a few pictures from this past show with some sketches and sketchcards as well.

2012 with Iconograph Studios

by iconograph on February 4, 2013 at 11:32 AM

Last week, the Iconograph Studios team held it’s annual planning session to prepare for the year. We’ve got a lot of exciting things in progress already and some new things on the horizon. We also realized that perhaps some people may have missed a few things that happened last year in 2012. So before we jump into whats coming later in 2013, let’s look back for a moment.

Once again the studio worked on a 48 Hour film. This year we worked with Smelly Cat productions and you can see the short film “Ellie” over here on Vimeo. Long weekend, but and incredibly fun and exhausting experience as usual.

All of the studio artist’s worked on sketch cards this year for Upper Deck  This was awesome for the guys to work on Marvel charters in both the Upper Deck Premier card set as well as the Marvel Beginnings 3 set as well. Here are a couple of the cards from Mark and Stephen. We’ll be posting more in the next few days.

During the Summer, if you had the chance to see us one of one the comic cons last year, you might had a chance to get the very limited edition of the mini comic Copper Captain from Mark and Stephen. For those dedicated fans you might recall this was the character and comic drawn by Jimmy in the webcomic Our Last Gasp Mark was the artist on the strips that showed Jimmy’s comic. In the mini-comic, he is updated to a World War II hero and begins a new adventure. We have a few copies left that we’ll be bringing to shows this year.
